About Us | American Marketing Association of the University of Florida

ABOUT US
Welcome to UF’s American Marketing Association. AMA is a non-profit student business organization providing students with opportunities to excel academically and professionally in the marketing field.

Mission
The University of Florida chapter of the American Marketing Association offers experiences that enrich the lives of University of Florida students through professional development. We are committed in providing our members with the tools and opportunities to differentiate their resumes, gain leadership experience, learn from distinguished speakers, and form relationships with recruiters and like-minded individuals.

Goals

  • Enrich our members’ experience in the field of marketing.
  • Build on existing relations with the college and other student business organizations.
  • Encourage member involvement on campus and in the community.
  • Build lasting relationships between members and professionals in the field.
    • Provide first hand interaction with professional speakers.
  • Aid members with self-marketing skills and career research.
  • Provide a professional environment with real marketing experience.

 

COMMITTEES
Members are encouraged to take part and express their interests in one of the committees. Through their involvement in one of the committees, the members will be able to develop and enhance their leadership skills, as well as their interpersonal skills. Opportunities to take initiative are present in all of the committees. Involvement will not only provide members a valuable experience, but also will help the organization, the University of Florida, and the city of Gainesville.

Marketing
Every semester brings the opportunity for members to participate in the development of a marketing program in association with a local business. Members have the opportunity to take part in helping the selected business develop their advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns. Past marketing projects include the University Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Team, Citisync.com, and the UF AMA chapter.

Promotions
Members of the promotions committee are responsible for the recruitment of new members, as well as the promotion of AMA and its events. Tasks include tabling, handing out flyers, and personally interacting with prospective members on campus and at Business Bash.

Research and Innovation
Members in the Research and Innovation committee have the opportunity to rebrand and expand the image of our organization. This committee is dedicated to maintaining AMA’s competitive image amongst other business associations as well as researching new methods to attract members. Members have the opportunity to interact with other business organizations, and act as ambassadors to AMA.
